To promote interest in women’s human rights among recent law graduates from Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, and provide experience for those already concerned, the Network of East-West Women (NEWW) and the East-East Legal Coalition (EELC) is placing interns for a four- to six-month period with their national legal committee or with European human rights groups that focus on legal strategies in the region. The internship will create initial employment opportunities in the field and permit recent graduates to develop and possibly litigate important legal issues in test cases. Selection and placement will be coordinated by the EELC, beginning early in 1997.
The first interns for 1997-98 were:
Roxana Paraschiv, Romania
Marija Lukic, Serbia
Saule Vidrinskaite, Lithuania
